FAQs
A sewing pattern is a 2D model of the different pieces needed to make a garment. It includes several sizes, assembly marks, as well as instructions for cutting and assembly.
MAYA Patterns patterns also include seam allowances.
A PDF pattern is a digital version of the pattern, which you can print at home on an A4 printer, unlike traditional paper patterns. One of the advantages of PDF patterns is the ability to select the size (or multiple sizes for adjustments) before printing, thanks to the layers feature, which we offer in our patterns.
Once you have printed all the pages, simply assemble them to form the complete pattern. You can then cut each piece to the size you choose and use them to cut out your fabric.
Once your garment is made, you can keep your paper pattern pieces for future uses, or reprint the pattern, in the size of your choice, at any time.
The assembly guide, provided in PDF format, can be viewed on screen or printed according to your preference.
Automatically, once your order is finalized, you will receive 2 documents to download per pattern ordered:
1. the PDF pattern of the chosen model to print (all sizes) and assemble. It is offered in A4 format with choice of size layer(s) for printing.
2. The PDF assembly guide to consult online or print. This guide includes all the explanations necessary for making the garment. You will also find tips and all the video tutorials accessible via a link (web link and QR code).
The patterns are offered in English and French.
These patterns are available to download within 30 days on MAYA Patterns. An email will be sent to you with the download link.
It is therefore important to save your patterns once downloaded to your computer, or tablet, or cloud...
Creating a sewing pattern involves several detailed steps.
It all starts with a phase of research, gathering inspiration and sketching design ideas. Once the concept is finalized, I make the pattern, create a prototype in a single size and make successive adjustments to ensure comfort and fidelity to the design.
After validation, I transfer the pattern to Illustrator, do a final test and start the grading (adaptation for sizes 34 to 48). I then document the assembly steps, possible variations and write a detailed assembly guide.
To accompany the pattern, I create technical visuals and tutorial videos for each key step, which I integrate into the guide via QR codes. All documents are then translated into English.
Then comes the shooting phase: I prepare the models, organize the photo session with a professional team (photographer, makeup artist, hairdresser, models) and create the atmosphere to enhance each garment. After selecting the photos, the pattern is ready to be integrated into the store.
All these steps require time, resources and a considerable investment. But it is a real accomplishment to see my designs come to life in your hands, whether you are a tailor or a seamstress, and to imagine your creations from my patterns.
Yes, all seam allowances are included and mentioned on the pattern and on the assembly guide. They are also visible on the pattern by a margin.
It is therefore possible to modify them if desired before cutting out the pattern.
No, no overlap, each piece is independent of the others.
The patterns intended for printing have been designed to save you from having to trace them (or worse... print the pattern twice!).
MAYA patterns are sent automatically by email, so don't hesitate to check your spam folder.
If you still can't find it, you can also download it by logging into your account.

Anywhere in the world! As the PDF patterns are dematerialized, you can order them from anywhere, and you will receive them on your email.
However, you will need to read the pattern and assembly guide in French, or in English. To date, they are not translated into other languages.

MAYA Patterns PDF patterns prices are set in Euros.
A conversion at the rate at the time of ordering is provided for the English and American versions, which explains why the price in pounds sterling or dollars varies according to the euro rate.
